ROUGH CUT (WITH FEEDBACK)

ROUGH CUT 1:

ROUGH CUT 2:

Here is several of our rough cuts which have all led towards the final cut of our music video. We decided to export the music video at numerous stages, to show the natural progression of our editing, especially as the video itself is built on short, sharp cuts. Any advice or feedback we have received at each cut has also been listed below.

FEEDBACK:

The narrative makes sense and shows a clear storyline, but needs to flow better and to be finished.

Perhaps revise the opening sequence of titles, the movement introducing the artist and the fonts of text.

Reduce the amount of shots from a side profile.

POSITIVE FEEDBACK:

Good camera movement

Nice link between performance and narrative

Nice water movement - slow-mo

Lead singer is good and clothing matches genre conventions well

Good pan at the beginning

Slow motion looks very professional

Good time-lapse

Fade to black looks really professional

Really good variety of shots

Focus pull is really good of feet

Liked the crunching of paper

Nice studio location

Love the multiple scenes of water

Love the fire effect

Love the seashore scene

Good use of camera angles

Very effective shots - especially the drums

CRITICAL FEEDBACK:

Drummer slightly out of time

Have more close-ups of the instruments

Have more band performance

Shorter band shots needed

Close up shot at the end could be made shorter

Change the font of "White Water"

Don't use too many zooms

Not sure if I like the font at the beginning

I think more close-ups of the instruments
