COPYRIGHT

Getting the permission of the artist whose song we had chosen is an essential part of this coursework, and we cannot use the song in our music video correctly without gathering this permission. Being a small artist, signed to indie record label "Relentless" with 2,536 followers on Twitter, we felt that the best way to approach the artist was through twitter. We made attempts to catch their attention, in hope of being followed to send a Direct Message, but when this failed we simply tweeted the artist a screenshot of a note, where we detail our intended uses with the song and the request for said permission.

Our note of the request of permission.

The tweet sent to MY's account.

Once we realised that it was increasingly unlikely for us to receive a response through tweeting the artist directly, we took to the record label itself. Our main fear was, that as a new and quite unknown artist, My might not be able to respond to us. And so, we found an email address for Relentless Records to request the copyright permission. Here is the email which we sent to the record label.
